About the ADE Bulletin
The ADE Bulletin is the journal of the Association of Departments of English, a subsidiary of the Modern Language Association of America. Since 1964, the Bulletin has published articles of professional interest to English educators, scholars, and administrators in postsecondary institutions. The Bulletin publishes articles and surveys dealing with professional, pedagogical, curricular, and departmental issues. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the MLA Style Manual and submitted as a Word attachment to ade-bulletin@mla.org or in duplicate to Annie Reiser, Modern Language Association, 26 Broadway, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10004-1789. Please include your postal and e-mail addresses and telephone number.

Individual Access
Faculty members and graduate students in ADE-member departments have free access to the complete archive of the ADE Bulletin online at the ADE Web site as a benefit of the department's membership. See your department chair for details. Individuals without an academic affiliation or whose departments are not currently members of the ADE can access the Bulletin by becoming affiliate members of the ADE; details are available here.

Library Subscriptions
The ADE Bulletin is available electronically to libraries by subscription. A subscription runs on the academic year (September to September) and buys access to the entire database and search engine. Access is provided through a campus IP address range (e.g., xxx.xx). Electronic subscriptions are also available to the ADFL Bulletin and the MLA Job Information List (JIL). These publications are available individually or all three bundled together at a reduced rate.

Subscription prices:

  • $250 for the first IP address range for ADE Bulletin access; each additional IP address costs $150.
  • $250 for the first IP address range for ADFL Bulletin access; each additional IP address costs $150.
  • $350 for the first IP address range for JIL access; each additional IP address costs $150.
  • $700 for the first IP address for all three publications bundled together; each additional IP address for the bundle costs $150.
